About Anthea |
About AntheaHi, I’m Anthea and for the past 15 years I’ve had a portfolio career as a singer, songwriter, performer, recording artist, vocal coach and music educator. I take a holistic, client-centred and non-judgemental approach to my coaching and teaching, with a focus on wellbeing, vocal health, playfulness, curiosity and collaboration. I’ve helped countless singers and musicians remove barriers that have been holding back their vocal function, expressive singing, performance and songwriting and have seen some amazing transformations in my clients as they blossom in confidence and perform in ways they’d always dreamed of.
I’m a self-confessed voice geek, who’s passionate about facilitating people to find their strongest, most authentic, most expressive singing and songwriting voices. I have first-hand experience of the wellbeing benefits of expressing the full range of human emotion through song, and it brings me great joy to support people to personally grow and flourish through singing, songwriting and performing. |

Qualifications and Training
As a singing teacher/vocal coach I’ve been trained by BAST, Teach Voice, the Voice Study Centre, New England Conservatory of Music and others, as well as being a qualified Vocal Health First Aider and holding a Post Graduate Certificate in Songwriting from Bath Spa University. I regularly attend CPD training, read voice research and am an active participant in the international voice teaching community online. I’m also a member of the multidisciplinary British Voice Association, the Association of Teachers of Singing, the Musicians’ Union, and PRS For Music. If you need something that’s outside my scope of practice, I’m well-placed to identify what might help, reach out to my extensive network of multidisciplinary experts and point you in the right direction.
I also learn and practise yoga, Alexander Technique and mindfulness (both in daily life and through meditation), which all inform my teaching. Compassion – including self-compassion and self-care – is a guiding principle in my life, and I aim to be an empathic, caring, accepting and non-judgmental person in my professional and personal life.
I’m also a mum to my beautiful son, who helps me grow as a person and brings me great joy – not least through his creativity, playfulness and love of singing!
